Sports massage: It is designed to prepare the athlete for their best performance, reduce fatigue, and relieve muscle swelling and tension. Due to over-extension or overuse, minor injuries and lesions occur in the tissues that can cause a great deal of pain and poor athletic performance. It helps alleviate pain and prevent such injuries that greatly affect flexibility, mobility, response time, and overall performance in athletic events.
Deep Tissue Massage: A generic term for forms of massage designed to relieve chronic muscular tension as a result of unbalanced posture or repetitive motion.
Prenatal Massage: This is an ideal way to reduce fatigue, improve circulation and muscle tone, increase energy, and reduce the muscle pain and joint stiffness that often accompany the changes occurring in the body during this amazing time.
Shiatsu: Your therapist uses thumbs, fingers and palm pressure along the meridians (energy channels) acupressure points to unblock energy, relieve muscle tension, boost the immune system and stimulate energy flow.
Thermal Pad Massage: A heating pad is applied to the body in this highly effective massage. Heat is transferred into the muscles, melting away tension, increasing energy flow and relieving pain and stiffness.
Reflexology: This treatment involves massage and pressure point work on the feet. Reflexology (as distinct from simple foot massage) is beneficial as a balancing modality. Stimulation of the nerves in the feet send information to the parasympathetic nervous system, encouraging organ systems toward improved function. It is a nice add-on to any session, or a session in and of itself.
Aromatherapy: Adding aromas enhances the experience of massage by stimulating the senses and lifting the mood.
Acupressure: Acupressure is an ancient healing art that uses the fingers to press key points on the body's natural self-curative abilities. When these points are pressed, they release muscular tensions and promote the circulation of blood and the body's life force to aid healing.
Cupping (BaGuan): Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist puts special cups on your skin for a few minutes to create suction. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.
Scraping (GuaSha): is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Practitioners believe gua sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing.
